Hey all,

I just noticed this clicking noise coming from under my steering column a few days ago, had never heard it before.

I’ve attached a video, hopefully the audio is okay.

Any help?

The Vent Box issue perhaps? Does the temperature change when you go from hot to cold?

Hey Zappy, thanks for the reply. Can you clarify what you mean exactly?

You bet. I had these clicking noises from inside the dash, after I shut off the vehicle, about two years ago. In addition, it seemed when I changed from hot to cold (or back), the vent system would take several minutes to respond. Soon after, it was always stuck on hot. One of the many threads for this issue is here:

The noise in your video sounded familiar so I figured I'd mention this as a possibility.

It's most likely your assigned Truck Gnome dancing inside the dash......
Each Ranger gets one permanently assigned as it rolls off the assembly line.
This is a rare photo of one....you can see how small they are.....they fit anywhere....

Aahh gotcha. Thanks for clarifying and sharing that thread. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of it.

Blend door. Mine is the same, and it seems a reoccurring Ranger problem.
55,000 miles here.
does the extended warranty cover this problem?
