Hey all,

Add one more to the pile. Mine presented a bit differently than the others though. Mine was a steady and fairly loud whine above 70mph. It had a very reproducible shudder anytime you left off the gas at speeds above 70. It was like softly hitting a rumble strip rather than the normal little judder you can sometimes sense from this driveline.

Dropped it off for the second time last week and I just got a call that the center bearing and U joint were replaced and the problem was gone. Picking up tomorrow. I mentioned this to them a while ago but I guess it wasn’t loud enough yet lol. I noticed at 1k miles a sound like a brake dragging at really low speeds which in hindsight was probably a bad bearing.

Sounds like a bad run of center bearings for sure. Mine is a 2021 with 12k miles.

I've waited 3 weeks for the center bearing to come. Now waiting another 4 weeks and counting for the special tool to come in. Is my dealer bullshitting me?
Day 32 for me, the wait continues.

Did you get it yet?

Mine is sqeaking now too. Def not as bad as Byngsboys video but it starts exactly at 30mph like many others have said. Just a slow squeak squeak noise but I hope the bearings will start flowing soon.
I did, they swapped in a new one and everything has been running like a champ since.

Okay, so my 2020 Ranger 2x4 with 7500 miles on the odometer starting to make a very load chirping sound from 25-45 mph. After those speeds it quieted down. I had a couple of days off work so I took it back to the dealership I purchased the truck from. I just spoke with them and they told the it was the center carrier bearing and the part was backorder until November 25th. They insist the truck is fine to drive until then. I drive a 1000 miles per week. All they want to do is replace the bearing and bracket assembly? Driveshaft balance caused the bearing failure? How long before the bearing blows out and cause spindles to break teeth or leaves me on the side of the road? Any help would be appreciated.
Well I realize I am very late to this thread but I had the same issue with my 2020 Ranger XLT. Very loud intermittent squealing noise from the center of the drivetrain while driving between 25 and 55 mph. It took my dealership over fifteen days to diagnose and fix the problem. To their credit they didn't want me to drive it and provided me with a rental Kia Sorrento. They used chassis ears (microphones) to listen to the bearing while driving it and determined the bearing was bad. Haven't heard the noise since it was replaced. Also, check the weld covers on top of your vehicle. They are aluminum and the paint was peeling off of mine. Known issue so they were replaced with no questions.

Thanks for this thread. Very helpful. Adding another one to hopefully bring more attention to this. 2021 Ford Ranger XLT just hit 10k and got squealing balloon sound 10-70mph. So loud I'm embarrassed to drive it. Took it to the dealer... bad bearing in driveshaft. The kicker... parts won't ship for at least 30 days. No loaner available, waiting list for a rental, was told it's ok to drive just deal with sound.

Lost my mind at the idea of trying to figure out how I was going to get to work for a month without a vehicle because they sold me an overpriced faulty truck that broke down under 10k. I understand the woes of the supply chain but hoped I would be taken care of better than good luck we'll call when the parts in. Called Ford Customer Service and got a case open to hopefully expedite the parts. I'll post an update to let you know how it goes.

I have a 2019 Ford Ranger that had a faulty carrier bearing in the drive shaft at 41000kms. Now at 63000kms it's starting all over again. I am in the process of having my driveshaft replaced once again at the dealer. Luckily for the remaining powertrain warranty.

2021 with just over 15k miles here. Hearing faint chirp chirp noise coming from under truck at low speeds after long trips. While I was looking around under the truck, I saw my passenger side front axle cv boot is leaking again. Inside boot instead of outside boot this time. Fun times.

Let's hope it stays faint. I had to make a fuss with dealer and corporate to get it replaced in under 3 weeks. Hopefully things have improved.
