a few months ago people were mentioning getting great offers from carmax and carvana , however the values I am getting are lower $31k from carvana and 30K from carmax. There is an open recall for the seatbelt issue, which I am wondering if this is why they are offering a lower value to me. The dealer near me says ā€œwe don’t have the parts yet so don’t bring the vehicle inā€.
ā€˜19 ranger XLT 4x4, sport, 301a, rear locker and factory tow package.

Try KBB and Vroom also.
I got better offers by thousands from them than I did from Carvana, but a lot of what you see is affected by region as well so you have to take that into consideration too.

It also varies week to week.

Last Week Vroom was $36600, now it's $35k

And this week Carvana went up the amount that Vroom went down.

Currently CarMax and Carvana are within $200 of each other at $37k.

CarMax has gone as high as $38800 a few weeks ago.

I've pretty much decided I'm keeping it at this point, but if CarMax tops that $38800 offer I might give in.

If you're seriously thinking about selling it, look at a KBB Instant Cash Offer.

They will give you a number and several dealers will contact you, many willing to top the KBB ICO.

As stated its going to vary a lot. Alot of people are buying but a lot of people are also selling, if the have too many rangers this week price is low, if they run out prices will shoot up, best advice i can give is check weekly. And its unlikely the recall is effecting its value.

I checked carvana a week ago, my Ranger's value dropped $6000 from 2 months and 5000 miles ago. Add in the leveling kit and it drops another $3000.

I think the area has a lot to do with it too. The last time everyone was posting what they were offered mine was quite a bit lower and no it wasn't because I had a damper. ? The higher offers looked to be mostly the east coast and New England area where there would be a higher market for a 4x4 for resale.

Carvana and carmax didn’t even have a check box for having a damper, they are not realizing the full potential value .

Mine is a fully optioned XLT. It also has less than 14k miles.

It fluctuates back and forth, but for a while now KBB has the XLT as higher priced than the Lariat but only for the 2019 model year.

All other years the Lariat is highest priced. It may just be my area.

Not sure why, but as long as it gets me top $$$ for my truck I'm OK with it. ?

I tell myself I'll accept $39k for it. KBB Private Party is $47K to $48.5K, which sounds crazy to me.

Note that I have also told myself I would accept $36k, $37k, $38k, $38.5k. I have been offered those numbers and I still have it.

And also, for anyone inputting your vehicle details for a price estimate, ALWAYS input it with NO MODS.

Any mods will lower the value.

I still have my factory stuff and I can return mine to stock in a day easily, then sell my extra stuff on the side.

Woah, I even selected no mods. Maybe i should try some other zip codes within driving distance of some major metropolitan areas.

some of the numbers listed here are more than i paid and owe which is enticing. But, can one replace what they have for the amount they get without going upside down? I do not think I can. I would want another similar truck which would bring me back to ranger frontier toycoma. dont like the toycoma. already have the ranger and the new frontier is too new for me to trust. so its sorta a catch 22 if i sold for one of the good offers. id take a bronco but those are too expensive esp with many being offered at higher than msrp.

It also might be depend on inventory. If the Ranger inventory is what they consider high they might not want to take in more Rangers, so they low ball you.

Like others have said, give Vroom and others a try and see what they offer you.
