Does anyone know if DRL can be disabled with forscan?
Or at the very least, be changed to run the fogs as the DRLs?
Thanks in advance.

You don't need Forscan it's in the menus

Not on mine. Maybe because mine is an XLT?
Must be a Canadia thing, then. Maybe another member up there in the land of geese and feathers can say if Forscan will allow an edit.

The problem is, if they've specifically restricted it, you may not have access at all. One would hope but it's hard to say what the commies have done and how far they've gone to restrict your freedom brother

Yes, you are right about everything you just said. On my previous VW, I could code it out. So I'm hoping the same with Ford.

The answer to your question is - Yes
Unless Ford - Locked this setting out from being changed - For Candian Trucks (Law)

NOTE: You know the Laws for your country, so I can help with your query, but I will not pay your ticket/fine :crackup:

Using this Screenshot as a ref - look at the DRL (Conditions) in the menu selection
In this you have 2 Options- Opt (A) = US Version (Configurable DRL) -- Opt (B) = Conventional DRL (Canadian Version)

And the Hex Data that the (Easy Way) changes is this line:
BCM: 726-26-01 - xxxx-xxxx-x1xx
0=Opt A
1= Opt B

In Conventional - The DRLs are always on - regardless of headlight switch position
In Configurable - The DRLs are on - (In Auto) & Headlights are NOT commanded on (Daylight)

Now to get the - DRL Menu on the IPC Screen, like the US Version Trucks, if you want to try this:

In this menu - you will have the menu screen to (Enable or Disable) the DRLs from the IPC Screen.
Quick Change (Selection)
As with Forscan - Its a perm change - unless you change it back with Forscan

I do not know where this is in the (Easy Menus) but this is the line that sets it:

IPC: 720-02-01
xxAx-xxxx-xxxx - DRL Control (In Menu)
A=Disabled
E=Enabled

Som as long as the BCM & IPC (will allow) the changes - you should be able to change them to the (US Version) settings and then play around with how you want to customize your DRLs to Fogs or both DRL & Fogs

Ref: My Thread on moving the DRL around

Use the information provided in this thread - to play with the DRL (Configuration) & (Options) and move the DRL to the Fogs (Only) or (DRL + Fogs)

Generic Rant Time: I would love if the fogs or the Turn signals could be the DRL's (but I'm too cheap for forscan), but I do not understand the people who completely disable them. DRL's make you easier to spot all the time, if you think it doesn't 'look' cool, what are you even doing with your life?? It's a car, on the road with other people who are not paying attention... You think you car will still look cool when it's totaled after someone turns in front of you because they "didn't see you"?

Angry old man rant over. Sorry.

I have LEDs in my grille that are on all the time, from one of my aux switches. I'd like to have them as my DRLs.

As far as (BCM) Control it is not possible unless you tie them into the parking lights and take away the Aux Switch input.
Now it is possible to possibly keep the aux switch and tied into the parking lights, but your aux switch input will create possible fault triggers in the BCM - (Dual Power Sources)

Again, The Candian Law - Is the DRL are to be ALWAYS on, this includes the Taillights (Parking)
the unknown is (does the law) require a specific color for the Front DRL's normally (White) is there an option for Amber and be Legal. (My guess is NO)
