Of course it's not big deal. It's just annoying is all.

I'm not a boomer. I don't pull out my laptop or go to my office just to check out the forum and a few other things. Like most people in the world the vast majority of my web browsing is done on a mobile device. Perhaps I'm missing something. But I don't see this indication you speak of.

Annoying? I can name 100's of things that are annoying on here but starting a thread to complain about another Ranger site isn't one of them. I guess this place wouldn't be the same if some didn't always complain about trivial things.

Using a laptop is a boomer thing now,? It's called convenience. I don't get on here from work so when I'm home why would I use my phone with a 6" screen when I can use my laptop which has a 16" screen? Don't think your good eyesight will last forever either. It's not so easy to see a smaller screen as you age. One day you'll see you'll find out your arm isn't long enough to read something and realize you'll need glasses.?

The worst is linking to 6G, but on 6G it's just another link to a report or pictures.

I mean it was simply a suggestion. Didn't figure the thread would go so far. Obviously others agree.

If you feel so strongly that my request doesn't deserve a thread, feel free to delete it along with every other trivial post/thread on here. Maybe you can start with every damper joke?

Why would I get up to get my laptop from my office when my phone is right beside me on my couch? It's called convenience. ? I get on here whenever I want. My phone is always nearby, why would I search for, power on and log into my laptop just to laugh at guys wanting to fit 35"s with a 2" level and factory crashbars. I have the ability to do it right where I stand with a smaller screen, true. But it can ZOOM. AARP can hook you up with some classes on how to use the computer in your pocket.;)

Went to the eye doctor for our yearly visits a couple of weeks ago. When I was done guessing which ones were supposed be better the doc predicted I'd be complaining about near vision next year. "Boy have I got news for you doc!"

Not out of line at all Corey. It's the off topic section and even in the regular section everything goes off topic anyways. lol

I don't mind the goodbye post because sometimes a member disappears and you don't know what happened to them and while some don't care many of us do especially when it's a long time member like @EcoRanger. He always posted every Sunday and now he's been gone for months. But IIRC a few criticized his posts and I think that's when he disappeared.

As far as linking the 6G on here I myself don't see what the big deal is. The first time I didn't notice that it was a 6G post but now I just look to see where the thread is coming from. Really is it that hard is it to glance to the right to see that it says 6G? I could see if it were linking the Bronco forum or the F150 forum but many here are interested in the new 6G. So linking the latest news is good for traffic over to that site which many don't realize is even active.
I also appreciate seeing the goodbye posts. Like Dave said, it's nice to know why long-time regular members disappear. Additionally, when people decide to move on from their Ranger, I enjoy seeing what they've replaced it with and their reason for moving on, especially when it's people that I know enjoyed and loved their Ranger.

Regarding the 6G links: I don't have any problem with the links existing. I would even say that I like seeing latest news on the next gen, since it shows where Ford and the segment are going and could even be my next vehicle. However, I would like to know before I click on it that I'm heading to a site with a different focus, a different user base, and that will trigger a security warning on my browser. "Glance to the right" doesn't help if there's no right to glance to, such as on the mobile site (I sometimes visit on a PC and sometimes on a phone).

Also, as I age, I find myself needing to find "get off my lawn" type things to grump about, and "don't make me push the browser's back button" fits the bill.

Don't worry young man your day will come soon enough. I remember some of my employees laughing at me when I started wearing readers at work., the old man jokes were flying for a while. lol Then one day a couple years later one of them showed with a pair. I said what's wrong your arm isn't long enough to see the menu anymore huh? Usually mid to late 40's is the turning point. IIRC you're getting close. ? ?

Before you know it you’ll be turning around to go back home to get your glasses. Upon entering the house you realize they’re on the top of your head! ?
I've done that so many times! Where the heck are my darn glasses...Doh on my head.

So I went to the dollar store and bought like 10 pairs and scattered them all around the house. Now there's always a pair within reach. :like:

Dave is just a moderator. So he probably has no say in how this message board runs. My guess is that the company that runs all these xG forums has an interest in cross posting. That gives them more ad views.

That said and no offense Dave, I think a response of "I'll ask the admins about this and see what they say," or "That isn't possible given the current forum format." Instead of "I guess this place wouldn't be the same if some didn't always complain about trivial things," might have been a more forum customer friendly response.

Just my opinion. :)

I like snarky Dave. I'd say in this case he knew his target audience well.

The way you said that implies there is another version ...
Most of the time I see either Forum Ambassador Dave, or Damper Dave. Snarky Dave has just the right amount of edge for me.

YOU might know snarky Dave. But your journey here has been, unique, to say the least.
