I am so stinking sick of bouncing around in my truck. Tonight I finally ditched the FX4 shocks for some FOX Shocks with roost guards. Now time to go test them out! Hopefully these calm down the rear end a bit!

Why did you mount them like that?
One body up, one body down? Doesn't make a difference but looks weird as fuck.

Both bodies are inverted from stock and the same direction lol!

Maybe it's me and I'm looking at it wrong but it looks right to me. The one on the left has the shock guard on it and the other doesn't.

Both have shock guards. One guard faces forward(right), one guard faces backward (left).

The right one is kind of shadowed but now that you pointed it out I can see it. Maybe it's time for stronger glasses. ?

the underbody of your truck is so clean...how on earth did you get "so stinking sick" of the ride? doesnt look like you went anywhere other than the mall parking lot.
Our roads are all under construction around here and she bounced everywhere on them. Our area isn’t super muddy. Mostly rock. It’s been to ORV parks a few times, but I pull the wheels and thoroughly clean both our rigs after wheeling. Plus it’s only got 7k miles. I’ve always kept my vehicles like this. ??‍♂

I guess the roost guards were throwing me off.

I thought those, roost guards, mounted on the shaft side, not the body side.

Edit: I see it now. Disregard.

So, guys, somebody has to ask the dumb questions, right? I put the Ford Performance Levelling Kit, with its (allegedly) Ford-tuned Foxes, on my FX4, and they improved the ride a lot. But what is a "roost guard," and what does it do?

Protects the shock from impacts of rocks and other debris kicked up by the tires.
