They are pricey for sure.

For a straight up grill gaurd I think Ranch Hand is widely regarded as the best. They mount at the tow hook mounts like most but also tie on elsewhere as you can see here.

Just don't expect much. There's a dude around here who mounted a winch to a brush gaurd. @erniek 's setup is NOT recomended!

Oh wow I didn't know someone else on here had the same brush guard as me.

Even though this particular brush guard does have four hard points, though the two that slip between the facia and lower bumper and connect to body mounting bolts... I would classify these as... less than ideal and are not substantial at all... I think they are just there for basic additional support due to the weight of the brush guard.

I think the first time this winch gets used for anything serious at anything less than a perfect straight on level pull it is going to bend those secondary support brackets and at best damage the lower bumper, worst, rip a new asshole in it.

I'll take some pics in a bit and show everyone what I am talking about.

Only reason I got this brush guard was for additional mount points, some weight, and lastly, a less common product you don't really see.

I also recall seeing a YT video of a jeep or something with this brush guard and it ripping the whole thing off, but I don't know if there were underlying issues.

I wasn't aware that the Armadillo has 4 mounting points from the factory. I thought it was just the lower mounts.

@erniek claims to have reinforced the gaurd in order to support a winch. But he never showed said reinforcements and only claimed to have done so after a few others and I said it would fold like a pair of twos.

I think this all happened during your vacation.

Don't give too much criticism. He's a sensitive sort.

Oh, wouldn’t ever mount a winch to it. Not structured or ever designed for that purpose. Push against protection against soft (animal) or (soft metal at low speed) Not designed at all for pull (winch), if want a winch, or more serious protection, smack trees etc need solid bumper, brush guard is just for grill/headlight damage control

From these photos, can tell main bracing. Need a heavy bumper/guard combo for winch. Pictures of extra front end weight of those bumpers when doing front end leveling height of Tremor edition suspension 1” and 2” come out same, depending on winch/heavy bumper vs non winch
