I am trying to hook up an LED light to flash when the brake peddle is pressed. (this is for 4 wheel towing operation) I already blew one fuse trying to get a test probe into the back of the switch harness plug to see which wire is the one I need to splice into. Very tight space and right next to a metal bracket.
I hate cutting into factory wiring.
I would like (if possible) any suggestions for another location I can utilize would help.

Not exactly sure if this is what you're asking, but here it is: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/3rd-brake-light-wire-location-in-bcm-under-dash.13217/

Thanks for the link. Lots of good information.
I'll try pinching the yellow/gray wire down the line to see if it's hot when the brake peddle is pressed.
It is, but certainly check. If you didn't want to cut the wire you can use a t-connector, but you know that.
