I (again) got this from another forum, but here is my MacroDroid example that seems to work perfectly (see attached image). You don't have to do the steps below 'Enable Bluetooth', unless you want Spotify to auto launch.

Thanks! I never used MacroDroid before but was easy to program. I set it up just like above but also added Viper to start with Spotify.

Did it work for you reliably? After a few more trips in the truck, it appears to not work like I thought it did.

I haven't used MacroDroid, I've used AutomateIt Pro, but it looks like you don't have a toggle for Bluetooth, just a connect and enable. Based on other feedback in here, maybe you're missing that disable part for bluetooth, followed by enable and truck connect.

Yeah, I had a disconnect in it at one point, but it forced me to choose my source in the truck again, so i was trying to work around that. I'll keep experimenting.

As shown in the screenshot I was still getting the intermittent audio cutouts. I then added a BT disable step before the enable but that just created a looping situation and didn't work. Will experiment with it some more.

I'm also thinking about experimenting with an NFC tag if I can't get the macro to work.

I created a local variable called recent and set it to true at the beginning of the macro, then waited 10 seconds at the end and then set it to false .I then added a constraint that only ran if the variable recent was false.

This is the reason I like aux/in jacks. My wife's XT5 won't recognize my Android music player but it has a jack, so no problem there.

Ok, here is my new one. It has worked flawlessly on the last 3 trips in the truck. You may have to adjust the wait between disable and enable to suit your needs .

That's, pretty much how mine looks except I had placed the 2nd set variable = false at the very end.

Does your source on the Sync headunit stay on BT? Mine flips over to Sirius when BT disconnects. It's still better than before and I'd rather adjust the headunit than dig my phone out of my pocket. I'm experimenting with reducing the waits to see if it can reconnect prior to it switching the source.

Yes, it stays on the Bluetooth source. Originally I had more delay in there, and it would change . This seems to be the sweet spot for me.

Thanks, I'll test this out for a while and report back

My phone is a OnePlus 6T. I'm rooted running the latest OxygenOS 10.3.1, Omega kernel and xXX NoLimits 9.5 Magisk module. The 10.3.1 release did help somewhat with some battery issues but its not as stable as Android 9.

So far my BT issues are only with the truck.
I used to visit XDA and hacked the early Samsungs. I didn't know the new models (Note 10) could be rooted

While Google and phone manufacturers try to make rooting difficult, the smart people over on XDA are always ahead of them. For OnePlus phones the process hasn't changed much over the years. There are also some great unbrick utilities available now. I think it's worth the effort just for the ad blocking which go way beyond the ad blocking browser plugins.

I have been running the macro above, and it has probably triggered 20-25 times over the last 24 hours, across 2 phones (I upgraded to the OnePlus 7t McLaren edition), and the macro has worked 100% of the time without changing sources on the headend.

Even better, I can now say I own a McLaren!! :)

One of many things I've always loved about my OnePlus devices, they officially support unlocking the bootloader and custom rom use, and while I don't normally use it, it's nice to have.
