I wrapped the chrome on one of my side emblems. I like it but I think it would look better plastidipped does anyone know how to remove these from the side of the truck so i can work on them? Thanks!

I think I'll wait for the "Black Edition" gills to come out and swap them.....unless Ford wants $200 each.

The easy way is to use plastic trim removal tools. They are readily available on Amazon for cheap. You basically use one to lightly pry back and get enough space to push another thin one in and release the clips. You can see in the photo the 5 clips. I released the top two and the side one then it pops right off. The plastic prevents you from scraping your paint.

Here are mine finished for now. Went with a red accent to match some other truck accents I have. This would be easier to do if you started with the emblems that are already blacked out but that package hasn’t been announced when I decided to do this. This was as simple as masking and spraying plastidip twice.

Food for thought. I will get a xl someday. It is already blacked out for less money. I might wrap with camo the gills to match the fender protectors.

These look great! I am planning to do similar except with Orange accent. Did you do a full black plasti dip coat first and then tape off and do the accent color?

That’s correct. I waited several days before taping over the black plastidip and doing the red. One piece of advice is to use lower quality masking tape. I used 3M painters tape and it pulled the plastidip up in a few small spots creating some rework. I’d recommend the cheap tan colored tape. It took 5 coats of red plastidip to cover the black and I applied them about 40 minutes apart.

Thanks for the tips. I layed down the black plasti dip on the Gills last night so it could cure before I do the Orange accents. Fingers crossed my "go mango" cans come in Friday from dipyourcar.com... I would have most def used blue painters tape if not for your tip here so I will go pick up some cheaper masking to hopefully avoid touch-ups. I put down 6 coats of black so it should be pretty thick to avoid pulling up with the tape. Will post photos when its all done!
