I decided to paint my tailpipe and all visible exhaust (when walking by) with some high-temp black paint. Cleaned with 4/0 stainless steel wool and then painted. I think it looks better since there’s no chrome or stainless on the truck.

Looks great! Thanks for sharing this information and the photo's.

Could you share with us the brand and specific type of paint you used.... maybe post up a photo of the can?

I used the Krylon High-Temp Black. I’ll snap a picture of the can in the morning.

Nice job, looks good. I plan on doing the same as soon as the temps warm up enough.

Lookin' good, love it! I did the same after adding on a matte black GoRhino tip. One of the first comments I made on this board was about how I didn't like the way the tailpipe looked. It was like a cheap piece of conduit sticking out.

I see chrome!! :giggle:

Yeah, I’m going to see if I can get all the emblems painted Magnetic to match the rest of the trim.

The stock pipe looks terrible. Nice DIY mod!
I'm going to do this too. .. but I also ordered up an inexpensive black tip from another thread.

COPYCAT, I did the same thing a few months ago! It looks much better. $35+ for a black extension was over the top for me, vs. a can of spray paint! Nice, my Ranger is Hot Pepper Red, yours looks like 2020 Red...

Painted the tailpipe with Rustoleum Ultra high temp semi-gloss then added a Matte Black GoRhino Exhaust Tip. Satin black would have been a better choice for the tailpipe color to go with the Tip. Overall a good match for the the black STX Trim.
