Blacked out the silver xlt on the fender vents with black plasti dip, also the bit where you put the key.

I also prefer the clean look in this photo, but would rather have one with some chrome to match the rest of the trim on my truck. In my case, the Black Appearance Package blacks out the vents from the get-go, but I have been thinking taking it one step further, taking the writing off entirely with replacement "vents" from FA. I took the decals off the sides already. All this branding seems like too much bling for me. Thoughts?
I'll get these eventually, but right now I can afford the spray paint, not the part. hahaIn my case, the Black Appearance Package blacks out the vents from the get-go, but I have been thinking taking it one step further, taking the writing off entirely with replacement "vents" from FA. Saving on spray will get you faster to the partI'll get these eventually, but right now I can afford the spray paint, not the part. haha
What did you use plastic dip or paint?I like the look
Did the same on my white XLT
I was able to easily pop the vent off with a firm pull and then spray it
Did about 5 coats
No masking needed this way
I want to change xl to my initials. fill with epoxy and carve in my initials.does the xlt portion remove from the portion of the side vent? I want to do the same and im debating either removing the whole side vent or taping it off and spraying it on the truck. I like the gray of the vent and only want to black out the xlt portion
How did ya remove the decals I too don’t care for all the brandingIn my case, the Black Appearance Package blacks out the vents from the get-go, but I have been thinking taking it one step further, taking the writing off entirely with replacement "vents" from FA. Just put on a pair of gloves and blast them with a hairdryer, then lift and peel, keeping the hot air blowing underneath as you pull up. Takes about ten minutes to do both sides. I like the Ford ovals, but all the decals are just over the top in terms of branding, in my opinion....How did ya remove the decals I too don’t care for all the branding
