I also did the rears first an I thought the ride was night an day better. I only did the fronts to add a little height an I figured since the rear shocks made such an improvement I'd do the fronts. It's a nice improvement but not the impact of replacing the rears. I chose to use the 1.8" height increase to not preload the springs too much. Guess I'm getting old an didn't want a stiff ride. I was looking at the sway bar kits for the rear but I think the shocks alone improved it enough for me. I paid some guys I know that are always modifying cars $250 to install the front's. They had done a few F 150's before.

Yes, I watched a youtube video on the fronts and there is a lot to do there. ugh. lol
Not really. When I put the leveling kit in it only took me a little over 1.5 hours using hand tools and an electric impact. The hardest part and what took the longest was reinstalling the strut assemblies by myself. Wasn't the easiest thing to get them reinserted and lined up without a second set of hands.

And if you want to talk a lot to do, try replacing the front struts on a 2008 VW GTI. The Ranger is a cake walk by comparison.

Waiting to purchase all 4 as well. Heard lots of great feedback about them. Just so you have a reference I contacted 2 shops and got quoted $350-400 for installation only

I had my local Ford Quick Lane replace mine, back in February. I was surprised they would install them as I bought them from Stage 3 (by the way, they are backordered now). Ford charges $225 for the fronts and $75 for the backs. I installed the backs myself and paid them about $60 after using my 42,000 points. That also included the alignment. Took them about 3 hours.
I will definitely check Ford out, I never think of them because their labor rate is way too expensive

Yikes is referring to having to "build" the front struts which requires a spring compressor and careful attention. Not the same as installing a spacer style level kit, you didn't have to break down your struts.

True, but it only takes a few extra minutes to pop a strut/spring assembly apart with the tool and swap it over to the new strut. The tool can be rented at nearly every local parts house for free or very cheaply.

I'm one of the few who actually like the ride of my 2019 XLT. Except for when it goes over bumps. Then it feels like ............ a truck. Seems to be a feature of the solid rear axle. Will changing out the rear shocks to the Bilstein 5100 smooth out the bumps? I'm not looking for anything firmer, nor do I want to change the ride height.

Yup not that hard.
In my case the crazy ball joints were more of an issue than the spring compressor

Did it still add height? I was curious if you can use stock ones and if it would make a difference. I was going to order ome heavy duty front coil springs
