If you can't afford an additional $500, buying a brand new truck is not a good idea.

A sense of urgency around this big of a purpose should be deeply scrunitized-validated.. It is likely emotion.

Your money, your brain, use em both wisely - your in control.

Jeep made the 8" screen standard (Wrangler, Gladiator), that was a large part of the price increase, but yes it works out to a few hundred dollars.
Jeep just had another increase on 1/17/22. My '22 Rubicon was one of the first ones built on 12/23/21. The exact build after the 1/17 increase is now $1,930 more.

I really wish I could've been in the market in 2019. I know how Ford and dealers used to be with discounts, so buying right now sucks. But there was just no way I could at the time. Now I'm able to buy a newer vehicle, and the market is a mess. Used Rangers are BARELY less than brand new now... might as well go new and be the only butt in the seat. ?‍♂

You use the ford A plan? Damn good deal you got.
Don't know what an "A" plan is but I will tell you my secret. It probably wouldn't work at this point but when/if inventories ever get back to where they were....here is the deal. I bought my Ranger in February 2020 for reference. So on Edmunds.com (new/used car site) if you did a search on local inventory for the vehicle you were looking for you could see individual stock numbers and how long each vehicle had been on the dealers lot......HUGE piece of information, as they want to move vehicles out that have been sitting too long. I believe my Ranger was on the dealer lot for 183 days....that's the one I specifically went to negotiate on. I did trade my 2011 F-250 6.7 Scorpion Diesel to get into it....but I kept the trade and new vehicle deal separate. I did this by telling them I had no trade until I finalized the deal on paper for the Ranger....then I said....wait a minute....I want to trade my truck to make this work......lol. Ya'll give me a call when your looking for a new vehicle and I'll put you on the best deal.....;)

Very good idea with the lot and trade in. I will def keep that in mind. The A plan is for workers or family. Luckily my grandpa worked for Ford so I was able to qualify for the A plan. I believe dealerships lose money on those deals but then get reimbursed from ford in the end.
