I inquired if they would be offering a kit for the new Ranger and we exchanged emails and I was told that their current kit for the 09-14 F150 is the correct length and would work. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do yet but wanted to get this info out for anyone interested. The kit is $59.95 It sure beat the suggested MSRP from For of $249. I am waiting to see a Ford kit installed with a writeup before I decide.

As soon as I get my Touchlink Bed Lighting from Ford installed, I will definitely post a write-up with pictures. Yeah, I can understand the light kits that don't cost $250 maybe being a better option. The main reason I got the Touchlink kit was because it was initially advertised as working with the key fob. So I was thinking the lights would come on when you unlocked the doors or when the interior lights came on. Time will tell. Hoping the truck arrives today or tomorrow.

This is the description from the F150LEDs site:

The F150LEDs integrated LED bed light kit gives you hyper bright lighting down the entire length of your bed rails, making the entire bed of the truck more functional and easier for you to use.

The lights will automatically power on with the unlocking of the truck or opening of a door, and the lights will automatically power off with the locking of the truck or after a short duration following all of the doors being closed.

This makes using your F150 truck bed much easier and means you dont have to hassle with another on/off switch, its all built right in.

Each light is custom spec'd to our F150's so install is a breeze and light output is at a maximum.

That is what I am expecting. For the cost it should do that...lol!

ulev1st, Thanks for posting this information. I looked at the product and installation video and it is definitely simple enough. I wonder though if 180 LEDs per side would be too bright for a non-covered bed. Again, thanks!

One thing to think about about if it goes in and off with other lights. I had this kind of set up originally on a prior pick up and ended up changing it to a separate switch. Reason was the bed light would turn off when the lights automatically turned off. So whenever I would shut my pickup door, the lights in the bed would stay on for a short while and then automatically turn off. They never stayed on long enough to do what I wanted to do. Ended up putting in lights that had a switch on the actual tonneau cover. This way the lights would stay on as long as I wanted them to. And since I never needed the bed light on without being at the back of the truck, it was no extra work to turn them on or off at the back.

Something to consider

Ideally they are tied to the circuit for cargo lamp and could be left on with the switch on the dash but it's hard to tell if that's the case or not.

I like that suggestion, Mark. That gets me to thinking.... Can the cargo lamp be cycled on/off thru some combination of depresses on the key fob? If not, maybe I need to send that suggestion to Ford.
