I caught a batch of them hatching. Watch for the brown egg sacks on bushes. I love watching them tear other bugs apart.

I had one of there egg pods in a jar as a kid, I wasn't sure what would hatch. We went camping for a few days and came back to baby praying mantis' all over the place. I wasn't allowed to bring those back in lol

Well if it makes you feel any better Tracy, I wouldn't throw them away either. I wouldn't wear them though, they would become shop rags. 'Course my neighbors are much closer than yours, so there's that.
Still won't forgive my wife for throwing out my favorite flannel that I ripped the sleeves off of when I got holes in the elbows. It was Larry the cable guy style, Get 'er done!

many of yall catch great shots of birds so here is my first attempt at it. mostly just trying to figure out how to use my new to me camera. tried out the zoom. seems decent for not having to change lenses out etc. bird was near the top of a tree on the other side of street. no idea what kind of bird.
