Hi Tracy,

We have tons of Humming Birds at our house....We have a nest too, up on the roof near a vent but I do not want do disturb Mom sitting on the nest. We set out a vase with flowers for her and her mate, poppa to feed on until we get blooms on the Octillo and purple prickly pear blooms. Then little hatchling are so tiny. Dad is a Metallic iridescent green. Mom is not so shiny...

We used to have two feeders but it became like an airport and these little birds are really nasty tempered and dive bomb you out of their territory which is our patio. So we took the feeders down go stop the dive bombing.

Best,
Phil

Sorry for the poor quality photo. It is beautiful to me because I took it from my front porch.
We only get an occasional visit from eagles so it is a picture worthy event. We have seen several lately. I hope the trend continues. This one is relatively young. It hasn't gotten the white head and tail yet, That usually happens around 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 years old. Dang crows always want to chase them away. :frown:

For the first time ever, our saguaro that I planted over 18 years ago has bloomed for the first time ever... It was 2½' tall when planted. Now about 13' tall. Its brother is only 4' tall and was almost 3' tall when planted. What made this saguaro grow so fast is a mystery to us and our gardener as well..
