Absolutely right. No regrets at all.

What do the Hawaiians say, “One life, don’t blow it.” ;)
Actually they say "Go home Haole!" lol

I was born and raised in Hawaii ?

Driving a lot definitely prolongs battery life. I do 500 miles a week and I have had batteries last up to 10 years. It’s the sitting and the short hops that kill them. A battery tender makes a huge difference in life. Even solar ones are not too bad.
hate to break it to you but HEAT is the # 1 killer of batteries. Driving makes more heat under the hood.
