Now this is some good stuff. Not sure I've ever seen a plastic gas pedal though. But everything else makes sense. Functional wise the Ranger grooved metal gas petal serves it's purpose.Most pedestrian pedals are cheap and serve their function...they're the last thing to get attention from a branding stand point...often the gas pedal will be all plastic because is doesn't bear much stress and is fly by wire...from expensive to exotics, the pedals get more attention and bling...again, no relation to day to day function...then there's the track oriented cars that will have metal perforated pedals for traction on the brake and smooth but wide gas pedal for the gas so it can be easily reached during heel/toe...I did that with my Mini's pedals...for my Ranger, I blinged them up for the same reason others change up wheels...mostly for looks...
