I unhooked the negative on the battery pulled fuse #30 followed your instructions went to get food shut the truck off turned it back on and the light came on I’m trying to see if I can get a friend to read the code cause it’s after 10pm here and everything’s closed

ehh no big deal, it'll reset after 3 engine cycles. Its because you pulled the battery cable.

I hope that’s the case but why would it come on from pulling the battery cable?

I don't remember who, but someone else on here had the same check engine light after pulling their battery cable. The code was related to a "loose battery cable".

It didn’t come on till after an engine cycle I finished up the install powered up the truck got food shut it off then when I turned it back on it came up

If you read through that thread I linked, that's what happened to him as well, it was fine until the first engine cycle.

So took the truck to ford since I had the recall also turns out if you power the truck on and off too often or leave it running for too long it will throw a code I don’t know the code number unfortunately but that’s what came up

Did you guys use the vampire taps that came with the kit to tap into the grey / black wire? Just wondering if they are good enough or if I should hit up the store for better ones.
