welp it’s happened and don’t know why yet, and it has to be when service is closing till Monday. Got in after work and noticed the check engine light is on. Looked at fordpass and had alert, looks like after I turned off vehicle I got the alert this morning. Hope nothing serious. Urg, not even 1000 miles yet! Anyone else have check engine lights come on yet?

What are you referring to in the screen shot? You can always stop by your local auto parts store and have the code read for free

Yeah I was. So come to think of it, my fordpass wasn’t connecting on the truck, I unplugged battery and plugged it back so I wonder if that messed with the emissions stuff, now I have to drive it for it to go away?? That’s my guess, but I’ll try and get to a local parts store to see what it reads.

Disconnecting the battery will not generate a check engine. If anything it will clear one. If it's an actual issue it will come back.

You may have set a code when you disconnected the battery, Erase the code and see if comes back... likely not. Also check the flap on the fuel cap, it is a common glitch.

Maybe double check your battery connections and verify they are tight, also check any other wiring connections you may have fiddled with

It was same code, different page. And yeah I’ll double check when I get home. Kinda annoying but will see.

Ford specific 2610 description:
Possible causes
  • Battery cables loose or intermittent connections
  • Keep alive power (KAPWR) circuit to PCM concern
  • Engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor
  • Engine cooling system concerns
  • Electrical interference around vehicle or PCM

Guess ford place it’ll be on Monday. Cables and wires are all good.
Did you clear the codes after reading and they came back?

EDIT: If you cleared it and it came back, yeah I'd go to Ford.

If you didn't clear it however, I have a sneaking suspicion that it may just be due to the loss of communication between the PCM and BdyCM when you pulled the power. I'd recommend clearing the code and see if it comes back before going into Ford.
