Glue yourself to someone ass and let them take the insurance claim.

That or slow down and don't speed. Give yourself the extra second to react in deer country.

Do NOT follow someone from a normal distance. Those dense shits might wait for the first car to pass but they won't even look for a second car........
Many years ago my sister was driving from Oregon to Wisconsin somewhere on I-90. She watched a deer run across the highway side she was on, then across the median, then tried to run through the space between a car and the travel trailer it was towing...

So maybe tailgating is not the answer!

I don't understand the whole who's to blame and should insurance pay thing. I mean seriously, who deliberately hits a deer? You claim you hit a deer, (or it hits you, but does it really matter), you show obvious deer strike damage, get paid. Should be no hassle.

Yeah, take down all those deer crossing signs and replace them with car driving signs that face the woods for the deer to see.
If the deer would just obey the sign and cross on the crossing there wouldn't be a problem.

Whilst camping down the New south Wales north coast earlier this year, there was an Emu crossing sign, with a little green crossing marked across the road. I've lived here for many years and never realised that Emu's could read.

The only thing you can do is reduce the odds of hitting an animal....and that's by slowing down.
Of course there is another way... get a deer stamp every year and get all your neighbors to do so.
No deer ever jumped out of a freezer into the path of oncoming traffic! :giggle: ;)
