All,

Trying to figure out how to replace the shifter knob on our trucks. I have tried doing a search (both on this forum as well as a general search on Google) to see if there were any instructions/videos on the topic but little to nothing has come up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,

Pull the boot up, disconnect the electrical connector at the bottom and remove (2) screws.

The Selector Knob and Boot assembly pulls up off of the shaft and then you can separate the knob assembly from the boot.

Yes, that is the intent. On mine, some of the chrome plating has worn off to reveal more of a copper look.

When you get it off, I would appreciate a picture of the shifter with the knob off. One of my complaints is how tall our shifter is, and thought about cutting the shaft to lower it.

Wondering if the shorter shifter they are putting on the 24 Rangers would fit on a 19. I like that shorter shifter look.

That was kind of my thought. I don't mind our knob, so if I can just shorten the shaft, I can work with that.

It may not be for a bit, but when I do, I'll be sure to post.

I think the top end of the shaft is a different diameter as the rest of it, so cutting it may not be an option. Or maybe they sell a different shaft to shorten it.
