Anyone removed the shifter / shift boot?

In my ever expanse down the rabbit hole of "that was my last mod" to then ponder and think of other ways to Thank the Ranger5g family with the ultimate, "I didnt know I needed that!"

Has anyone removed the shift boot, I am looking to replace it with the same material as the e-brake I just did. The surrounding panel around it pops right off, not sure about the top of the stick with release trigger in it and getting the boot off.

Spent a bit looking around the interwebs, but no real answer. Thoughts or experiences, anyone?

Well one of those fine folks would be me.

However I am looking to change the Shift boot.

Already did the e-brake boot. Totally different boot.

Well I feel stupid. ? I completely misinterpreted the title and your post.

I am sitting here thinking I should just go tear into it. Then I would know and not have to ask people on the internet.

Usually there's a tiny torx/alen fastener near the base or bottom of the shaft. Remove it, then the button on the shifter head will allow it to be pulled off.

Kind of talking out of my ass as I don't have a ranger, and can't track down the documentation.
