I got the letter in the mail a couple weeks ago and scheduled the update at my Ford dealer - they did the update yesterday (told me it would be 4-5 hours... not sure if that was actual shop time or just based on their backlog of work that day). Also had them do "the works" oil change and tire rotation, etc. since it was due.

Prior to the update, I had to hard-reset my radio/Sync almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day. The only thing I noticed is if I locked my truck it would "shutdown" the Sync screen and would work fine the next time I started, but if I left it unlocked to just leave for a shorter time to run a quick errand or whatever, when I came back and restarted the truck, it was almost like the Sync screen was still just hanging and wouldn't do anything.

After the update, it seems to be working fine now... but I'm only 1 day in.

Skrumpe, ,
I would agree, except I called immediately upon getting the notification by e mail, and I was given a two week wait time to get mine done. Don*t know if that is normal, or if I have been singled out for special treatment ...

The main question is - To those that are getting the Letters / Emails - and getting the work done.
Were you already at Vs 23188 or a previous version?
Basically, are they doing the updates even if you have version 23188 already installed?

That's a good question. This seems to affect most, if not all, Ford/Lincoln vehicles 2019-2023, for a total of about 383,000. I've only seen this post and others on other Ford vehicle forums. Goes back to July 22 and only based on correspondence others have gotten.

There is a Ford website where you can enter your VIN and see if you're affected, but I show no open recalls or CSPs for my Ranger right now. Other forums are about as clear as this, but for now it looks like 23188 isn't as affected or we aren't getting notified yet.

Guess I'll keep an eye on my FordPass app and the mail and take care of it when/if I get notified

Never had any issues with my current Sync 3. Just got the letter from Ford regarding updating my Ranger's Sync 3 unit. Truck is scheduled Sep 27 at our local dealer.
The onlything I notice is that remote start using FordPass has not been working for about 2 weeks now so I'm thinkinhg this is also related?
