I hate when salesmen come along on a test drive. I like to do things on a test drive that they probably wouldn't want me doing (evasive maneuvers, hard braking, hard accelerating, just general throwing it around to really test it out). Luckily when I went to test drive the Ranger, they only had a SuperCab and my wife was riding shotgun, so he wasn't about to squeeze himself into the back seat. haha
Recently drove 500 miles in one day with 4 adults and a box full of cargo in my 2WD SuperCab.
Everyone was comfortable and even said so.
4" difference in leg room is easily compensated for since the front seats have way excess leg room and are adjustable.
I have sat in the rear seat of the SuperCrew and found the real difference to be negligible, especially when each version has its own advantages.
I found the advantages of the SuperCab to outweigh those of the SuperCrew for my needs, eventhough I can see why some may have needs which fit the SuperCrew better.

You will probably actually like the new E--Mustang 4 Door Battery operated SUV??
I suppose BlueBird will get the contract to build the next one.
I'll keep my old 2+2 design, thank you.... It works well in the Mustang and even better in the Ranger.

it's curious to me how some salesmen let you test drive something on your own and others go with you. I got to take 2 new Tacoma's and a Toyota SUV by myself at one dealer but at the Ford dealer he came with me. Seems 50/50 when I look at vehicles if the salesman comes or not and when they don't come it's like it's nothing to them they are just like go ahead take your time.

Yeah, I'm not sure if there's a confidence factor involved maybe? Like the salesperson is so confident in the product, or their sales technique, or that you're already hooked, that they don't feel like they need to tag along and explain everything to you and point out every fancy little gadget.

I usually don't agree with this. Once you've paid big bucks for something, you tend to bias your opinion of it... I was surprised by the Edmunds thing too. It was all the comparison ratings by people who had not bought yet that interested me.
Usually in reviews you see a common thread both positive and negative (i.e. in a Tacoma your sitting more straight forward and it has great resale).

I think it comes down to a couple of factors. How much the salesmen thinks they have to sell you on the product/deal (the guy that went with me on the ranger drive was trying to sell a really bad deal) vs the guy who gave me a fair deal and let me take the truck - that guy also told me I should take it home to show the family. How good of a salesmen the person - the one I bought from he probably had 3 or 4 people out on test drives at one time more #'s equals more sales.

I would guess it also depends on the rules of the dealership. One I visited didn't let anyone test drive cars without a salesman because they had an addict take a car on a drug run and they were gone a few hours. How they discovered it was a drug run IDK maybe they called the cops and the cops found the person with drugs or watched the deal.

I know my guy, and the dealership. They are very involved in local charities that I work with, so he didn't hesitate to let me take it for a while.

Yeah, I guess I've always assumed that every dealer starts out wanting to let people take their cars without a salesperson, and then either something happens with them, or they here about the dealer across town having trouble, or they hire a new salesperson with stories of bad things happening, and then poof, away goes the free rides. haha I've always gone to relatively small dealerships, in relatively small towns, where they don't have to really worry about things like that.

I did my research too, including the Edmunds review. As others have said, it only matters what you think and how you reached your conclusion to buy the Ranger. For me it was a no brainer. If I were to ask someone what they thought about anything, I'm sure I'd get a bunch of negative comments.... truth is.... it doesn't matter what other people think. Read the reviews not to make your decision but for information you compile yourself to help with your decision.

I watched a YouTube video a while back that had where the reviewer didn't like the Ranger. Said at highway speeds it was squirrelly. I test drove a 2019 Ranger, unfortunately the salesman didn't listen to me when I said I'd like to test drive it up to 60 mph and we were just on city streets. Was one area I was able to get it up to 50 mph for about a mile and it don't seem squirrelly to me. My wife and I liked the Ranger better then any other 2019 and 2020 mid-sized truck we were in. Now need to find one the color we like with the options we like and get a test drive out on the highway.
I've make many trips to the Chicago area from Louisville (300 mile drive) and I like the ride of my 2019 Ranger. Went to Mt. Rushmore last year and decided to push it a little on the open roads out that way. The speed limit was 80 so at one point I pushed it to 100 MPH for a brief time and it didn't feel squirrely to me. I don't go off road and most of my driving is interstates. Love my Ranger.
