In Ontario, or at least my little part of it, we have free household hazardous waste disposal. Nobody counts what you got, they take everything from used oil to dead batteries, styrofoam, old appliances and computer parts and paint cans. Better for the planet to ensure stuff goes where it should.

My local dealer back in Michigan had a "quick lube" lane that you just sat in while they did the work for an oil change. The VIOC around here are all drive-thru and sit-in-vehicle while the oil change is done. Most quick-lube places I've ever seen are like this.

I've used the fast lube places, never had an issue. I do prefer taking my Ranger to the dealership, and my Honda to Pep Boys. Both places have been outstanding in their service. Pep Boys is comparable to the fast lube places and this one I've dealt with for several years plus I like talking to the dude assigned while he works.
I like my Ford Dealership - I always get full syn and ask for either Motorcraft or Shell Rotella - yeah, it's a bit more (not much actually than the fast-lubes for full syn) but it keeps any warranty issues at bay and everyone there is really nice and honest. In Pensacola, there isn't much variation between the mechanics' hourly rate at either the dealership or independents (that aren't shade-tree mechanics.)
For what it's worth...
