I've got a Warn VR Evo 10-2 sitting in my garage waiting on a bumper. Hopefully my ARB Summit bumper will be delivered today, and installed with the help of some friends on 7/18!

Good choice, I’m loving my VR Evo 12-s.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread, but has anyone who has done the install seen any negative effects of having the winch in front of the intercooler?

I dont think anyone has had it installed long enough to tell, but yes it has to be a concern. I rolled the dice on the 589 hidden mount also, we shall see.

I'm not thinking it's too much of a big deal? Do they run the 2.3T in Australia? If so they should have a few more years experience running them.

Hi John,

I think the Australian Ranger is only diesel powered.

I've had mine on for a while now (589 hidden mount). I've driven a lot of steep mountain highway passes with a lot of weight in the back, and crawled slowly up a lot of pretty rough 4wd trails. There have been no negative effects at all of the winch being up there. I even still can get around 24mpg on the highway at ~70mph.

I've had mine on for about a month with no issues related to the winch. I've also taken it offroad and it's worked flawlessly.

Any issues with using the winch and factory battery?

I've since found and patiently waited for the exact thing I was going to fabricate to release. I should have it in a few weeks. The Westin winch tray.
Does it inhibit the use of the skid plate? I'd assume not, but I've seen crazier things.

I won't know til it gets here Sat and I install. It only mentions trimming the air damn but that's the non skid plate version and no mention about the skid plate. From what I see it may have to be trimmed.

Interesting. I'll check in on your build post to see what ends up happening. Looks like a good design, I just can't afford to lose my skid plates (if you're getting a winch mount it's because you're in situations where you'd need skids hahaha).
