Another fun fact... the original lights on my 2001 Ranger were still working fine after 18 years (when I sold it) except one of the driving lights which was hit by a rock!
My Shop has LED ceiling lights which were supposed to last 18000 hours. Not a single one lasted a year of intermittent use.
OH!, and I'm confident that my Ranger would outlast the Bugatti if they were treated the same.
Still I understand irrational "needs"... I have too many of them to fit in my garage! ;)

I would bet money if you had the LEDs you would love them.

Sure makes me happy, I may not have bought my Ranger if I was required to buy LED , let alone contemplate the replacement cost at about a hundred times the price of halogens which are arguably better. Even if they were .... say 90% as good as LED, ...how does the novelty justify the cost?
I understand that LEDs are cool , heck, so is a Bugatti Cheron which will get you to WalMart just as well as my Ford at only a hundred times the price....
But then, where would you put the groceries? :giggle:

sigh... led headlights in a projector with proper cutoff will have way better light output then a halogen reflector.... there is no argument with this at all halogen reflectors are dated and suck they always have... a led headlight bulb doesnt cost all that much tbh ive ran them in a lot of different vehicles with no issues for years because they are designed to run a long time... a halogen bulb on the other hand will get dull after 7 years and not produce the same light output so if you are still running that same headlight bulb that thing must not be able to see anything in front of it....

the only good thing about a halogen is they burn hot so they will melt snow and ice off the headlights but other then that there is nothing better about them even with them in a projector they still get blown away by a proper led....

but on the topic of xlt vs lariat i chose xlt because i hate the speedo on the lariat and i hate the leather seats... so xlt is perfect for me i do wish i had the headlights but meh thats one thing out of a few things i dislike plus i can buy a set of alpha rex headlights or the morimoto headlights for my truck that tbh look way better anyways...

Depends on your hearing. It was obvious to me. After I turned it off, I hardly hear the engine unless it is rev'ing about 3,000-4,000 rpms.
I turned it off as well, Truck is much quieter. Much better than the fake engine revs.

I have projectors on my Mustang... Meh.
As for cost , I'm just referring to several folks who have gone to a dealer for OEM replacement
I have had no such experience with halogen fade.
Still I would never imply that you should not have LEDs if you like, or a Lariat with all the bells and whistles, as long as I can get essentially the same truck for little more than half the price with all the essentials and a bunch of luxury Items.
One word of advice, never over drive your visiblity and don't overestimate it either.

No doubt that LEDs are going to dominate the market and that will be fine, when the price and serviceability becomes acceptable and they start to provide more pracical and less flamboyant designs. Until then I'm happy with $12 Halogens.

My2020 has leather, power folding mirrors, no heated seats(not needed in this climate). Cooled seats would be nice though. I am unsure of my package number as it is a 2wd FX4. Yes appearance mall crawler.?? But I like still having a key. When needed I can just open door and reach in and start without pressing brake pedal.
Wouldn't that be an FX2? When I was looking at options on the 2021 I'm fairly sure FX4 package was only on 4WD model.

As to the original post. The only think I would have liked from the Lariat are the IA and push button start, both features I have on my RS that I didn't know I would miss having on the truck as much as I do. But I didn't want leather seats and the extra cost of Lariat. Over all I like the 301A package. The less I drive the car the less those things bother me.

Waste of a convo lmao if you like halogens that’s fine but don’t try and state they are better then a properly setup projector with a led bulb… because it’s by far incorrect

Lots of arguments here and debates over LED bulb additions.
That's cool. I'm an old retired guy who likes to experiment and solve problems.
Also got an extra hundred bucks or so to piss away. Too old for titty bars, so I might as well try my hand at the great LED experiment.
It'll keep me outta trouble with the wife, and I may just make it work.

Only thing I wished my XLT has is the push button start and the garage door opener on the sun visor.

I spend two hours a day in my truck and plan on keeping it for 10 years+. The extra 2k for the Lariat package, not mention the 38k I paid for the truck in 2019 was a bargain.

Spend your hard earned money as you please, cause you aint taking it with you?

Ok , ? so I'm just a Luddite with nowhere near your insight or experience? ;)
I did concede to the possibility that LEDs may have some superior qualities (post #177) Just not a hundred times better and certainly not enough better to justify the cost,(IMO)
There is such a thing as a point of diminishing returns which is purely and appropriately subjective.
That's why Ford put halogens on the lower trim level Rangers, for the traditional Ford buyer who looks for value and reliability.
After all... If not for them to shoulder the cost, there would be no Lariat.

Oh yes I am. Intend to have the wife write a check for my entire net worth and toss it into the casket with me.
