Amp Research power step problem

Installed a pair of Amp Research power running boards this weekend and they work great- they go down/up when you open/close the doors, the lights come on. So far so good, except the dash is giving me a "hood ajar" message and the transmission won't shift out of park. The hood is as closed as it gets, and I disconnected/reconnected the battery, disconnected the Amp Research controller. Still no joy in the hood ajar department. I'll give Amp a call on Monday but thought I'd check in here and see if anyone has any insight.

Found the problem. Yesterday I posted about a pice of crap security system that the dealer added to my truck without my consent https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/does-anybody-know-what-this-is.20424/. I unplugged the module yesterday and removed it. After reinstalling it my hood ajar message went away.

Good deal on getting a fix.

i had those on a GM 1/2 ton pickup that was leveled and lifted. I love them, worked perfectly with never a hitch from day one.
