I was doing a little searching around and found that the 2.3L Bronco had a TSB for alternator placement. Ford rectified this with shielding (Part # MB3Z-10317-K). Have any of you tried this on your Ranger?

I don't plan on doing water crossings but would love the shielding given all the rain/flooding we've had recently.

It may also hold heat in and make it fail too?

I'm less worried about heat than water

I've had the alternator out and I can't honestly see how you'd get it and the alternator back in the same space together.

The 5G Ranger and 6G Bronco have several differences under the hood; coolant overflow, airbag, alternator out and other things differ, some greatly. The 6G Ranger has more in common, being closer in under hood dimensions, so what fits a Bronco won't necessarily fit a 5G Ranger.
