Perhaps you did not hear the fact that I already have frogs close enough to the yellow that aren't a problem. Also wasn't able to take care of the light in front of the headlight enough. As for the Pro Series it's still a projector style and still has its limitations

I didn't hear that, you said extreme white, how could I assume you meant close to yellow? I'm sure someone would be more than happy to buy your luxx off of you. They look so good and are a great product.

Well the PIAA Xtreme White Plus ia actually a 4000K light and still has a yellow light to it being a halogen bulb. Now supposedly according to PIAA they have somehow made it to where the wattage output is double but yer the life of the light doesnt take as much of a hit(I can't say how much is and isnt true but I have seen good reviews). The lights in the fog assemblies right now were able to get me through the dense Fog I delt with today so that was definitely a plus for me.

Now you did mention why I dont get another light added that is yellow or amber? Well I'm not to that stage quite yet but in time i will get there. I just have other things to do first.

Well after having the Alpharex Luxx series for quite a while(a little over 6 months I belive) I finally have a review of sorts that definitely beeds to be heard.

Now in general the lights are cool looking and very sleek. That is part of why I bought them. Also the price point. For a projector headlight assembly it does its job well to an extent as there are some drawbacks(soon I say). The lights do shine far and I have gotten the comments on how my lights are bright.

Now for the not so good. As stated from AlphaRex the lights are roughly 5700K color temperature(yes it matters and we will touch base soon). Yes its a nice light but still has drawbacks. Also when you turn on the high beams the light only shines the center. Yeah a projector is going to do this naturally but sometimes you need a bit more then that.

Now to the importance of the color temperature(yes that inclides you LED bulb droppers out there). Why does this matter? Well thanks to proven science we have all learned that a light with a more yellow or orange light will preform better in inclement weather like Rain, Snow, Fog and heavy dusty conditions. A light that is more white tends to not do so well. Why does this matter? Well the Luxx series lights and many drop in LED lights are ar or above that threshold of white light and are sometimes a blue light(but yet not true blue). When the light is that color(5700K and above) the light will be reflected back at you and you wont be able to see anything.

Now with the color temp out of the way here are some things i recently delr with that were not fun at all. Here in Colorado we can get oh so wonderful weather conditions that will make you trst your skills(both good and bad). Today we ended up with some bice heavy fog that had me tensed up quite a bit. Well when I hit heavy fog I emded up having to turn my headlights off and keep the Fog lights on(not going to lie it is a nice feature). My Fog lights are back to OEM but with PIAA Xtreme White Plus bulbs in them. With those I was able to see good enough to get through but still not easy. I have also run into similar issues with snow(loght snow isnt much issue).

Now you wonder what I plan to do? Well I plan on going back to the factory lights with PIAA Xtreme White Plus bulbs in both high and low beam. In general it will help with these type of situations. After taking care of the aim I should still have good distance but not as good as the projector lights(a tradeoff I need to take). What is going to happen with the AlphaRex Luxx assemblies? They will be up for sale after I change the lighrs out this weekend(I still have the original boxes and packaging). If interested in them let me know and I can work a deal with you(no you wont get them at half price).

I really want Rex Blacks the middle tier with LEDs but after this rather just find a good bulb and use stock XLT's Just not a fan of sealed lights and not being able to replace them. I plan to keep this truck for a long time and I think I rather get UCA's + blubs vs the Rexs. Please do a review of the blubs and tag me please

Ahh so they are called extreme white, but are between pure white (5000k) and yellow (3000k). That makes more sense. Also, you say that your post includes the drop in LED guys, and you're right. But for the record the guys that drop in LED's get to choose their color, so those drop in LED guys in particular running anything lower than the "5700k" in color are excluded from your statement. It's worth noting.

Well they do look cool but they do suck in fog.
I put alpharex pros in my wife's f150 with some 5000k bulbs in the lows, uppers, and swapped em into the fogs too. Looks great, but in the fog I realized how much I missed my yellow fogs on my ranger.
Also, when you said drop in LED guys, I assumed you were referring to the alpharex pro buyers who swapped out the halogen bulbs that come in them with LEDs in the projectors, not dropping LED's in the reflector housings.

I'd say it goes both ways. I have still seen some members on here choose the 6500K LED lights and put them in the Pro series. If Anything they don't give the glare like the Drop ins do on the reflector housings.

Glare-wise, definitely.
Fog-penetration-wise, ehh lol.

What are you using for highs? Stock Blubs?

PIAA has a set of 9005 Xtreme White Pluss as well. Already got the bulbs installed in the housings. Just need to swap the housings over.

That's if you are lucky to get them there. Due to some conflicts between PIAA and 4WP's PIAA is no longer in stock with the exception of what is on the shelf(if it's there). But thisshall come to a close and wait for another thread to come. Now we just let it go back to AlphaRex
