There is a 3 peak highway terrain out there. Think its Kumho. Its my next tire. 2 sets of oem tires will get me to 110k.

+1 for the Michelins. I went from the stock tires after 26K+ miles to them (MS+) and the ride is quieter and I believe the handling more confident - although the lower highway noise might be enforcing that perception. They get better marks for wet handling too.

Supposedly they 'improve' fuel efficiency but I bet that has more to do with air pressure than magic rubber.

It makes total sense that a quiet tire is more efficient. Tread design is a huge factor in mileage. Every time I hear loud tires passing by I think of how much fuel is being wasted. It takes energy to make noise.

My suggestion would be the Michelin LTX M&S or the Firestone Destination LE3. Both are All-Season Street Tires and should suite you well. I would stay away from an AT if you have no need for it.

Also don't forget a good set of Snow Chains or Auto Socks for when the weather gets really bad!

Yea, man. I cant believe how many miles I got out of these oem tires.

90% highway miles. A lot less wear and tear than city driving.
I replaced my OEM Hankooks at 50,000 miles and there was still usable tread on them. I'm not too surprised that you were able to get to 90K.
