So I've seen pics of this inlet restrictor on the stock muffler. Has anyone taken a hole cutter n cut out that plate to open the pipe up fully. I'm thinking about doing it this weekend.

Well damn I thought it was on the inlet side right there... That blows.I removed the stock muffler an it's not a straight through muffler an the restriction is at the far end of the intake side of the exhaust flow, if that makes any sense. I don't know how you could you could get to it.
What did u replace it withI thought that too until I got the stock one off
Sounds really nice. It's seems to be pretty close to what I am looking for. Which one is it? I want to replace the stock muffler and have been looking for something similar to what my GTI sounded like. It was a stock exhaust but had a really deep but mellow note to it with no hint of drone at all. I had been looking at the Dynomax super turbo 17792 for the slight increase in exhaust note but no internal restriction. But if this is cheaper and made from better materials it is probably a much better option.here's the borla I bought. I think removing the resonator would make it louder than this. If you look around on this forum you will find guys that totally deleted the muffler with a straight pipe an it isn't too loud. Going through the turbo, Cat an resonator all reduce the volume of exhaust.
Was it this one? Borla PRO XSNow I'm wondering what the flow master would have sounded like on it.
I went with this one got it on amazon for around $82 but I had a $50 gift card to burn
that's it
