Hey man, yeah been pretty busy these last few months.

I wonder how the unleased compares to the Ford tune... Man $750 for that tune hurts though!
Both with the Unleashed and Livernois you can get 87-89 tunes so you're not locked into running premium all the time. I haven't seen anyone complain with any of these 3 tunes but the Unleashed and Livernois give you more choices and customization over the Ford tune. I might be selling my Livernois tuner if I like the Unleashed one more.

Ok copy that. Yeah I don't necessarily need the more power these tunes offer since I feel the truck is plenty powerful, but what I really want is a smooth transmission. If you sell your tune let me know. I may be interested. I just don't know if I should wait till my 3/36 warranty expires first.

I would go ahead and just do it now. I was worried too but after installing it I was so glad I did and not just for the performance but it does shift WAY better. Also now that I think of it @NOVA_Ranger did have an issue with his transmission and even tuned they still covered it. I'll PM you and let you know if I decide to sell it.

If I ever get rid of this truck, it will be because of the transmission. I freaking hate it. Everything else has been great. When coming to a stop and you have to check your rearview mirror because you don't know if someone just rear-ended you or if it was just your transmission.... Yeah that's annoying AF.
Sounds like you need your shaft lubed.
If you are getting a thump when you come to a stop, maybe you need to lube up the slip yoke.
It's something that happens for many years, even with my '99.

I have a custom one piece driveshaft. I lube it every 3-4K miles. It's happened before and after the new driveshaft.

Hey brother. No not yet. Two things holding me back was the price of the Ford Tune and having to run 91 all the time, but it might be time to get it tuned. What tune do you recommend?
I was very happy with Unleashed. Super quick service, truck ran great the whole time i had it. I even got Torrie to tune my GMC 5.3 V8 it seems to run just fine and smmmmooooooth shifts....

Mid-Size

Figured I'd add to the mix.

went into the dealership for a coolant flush & fill to get on the yellow stuff... anyways I also asked to have the tranny level checked as I was experiencing that tranny clunk feeling I guess is all the rage.

I tech comes back saying the level was fine, but he did flash it with an update. Leaving the dealership I noticed right away a difference for the better. If you can spare the time maybe call your local Ford?

I don't have any tunes, but I recently added a Drive9 throttle device off Amazon for $50... I've seen the same thing offered elsewhere for like $100 if not more. The Amazon one works just fine. Huge improvement on top of the already improved drive feel. Doesn't make the truck any faster but sure feel more alive.
