Nice look I have the red “ranger” letters on the tailgate of my black 2020 and everyone likes the look so you just convinced me to do the hooks, thanks

Ford wants $109 for a set of red tow hooks. Rust-Oleum is only $4.79 a can. Pretty much a no-brainer. ?

Super easy to do, 15 mm and a quick removal of the skid plate and you have full access. You don't even need to take off the back bolts as there are slots that hold up the skid plate and tow hooks, just loosen them.

Yeah, and I believe you can only get red from Ford. I'm about to try and match my KMC wheels which are Matte Bronze. Easy $4.75 to improve looks for sure ;)

While the red looks good on the OP truck, it is the Jeep brand Trail Hawk package signature color that was also later hijacked by GM for their off road packages. Therefore I could never do it. I saw Ford accessories sells the Ford blue hooks which look cool.

I have a can of grabber blue plasti dip laying around I may do mine in just to see if I like it.

I would’ve purchased the blue Ford ones but I mean $100 bucks vs some spray paint or plasti dip, hard to justify the $100 lol.

I scuffed mine with a gray Scotch Brite pad, you could use a red pad also. I followed that up by using a degreaser to make sure all the oil is removed. Make sure you put light coats on, better to put four to five light coats than two heavy coats. Good luck!

Well looks like I have another item to add to my project list for Saturday.

Pull rear seat and back wall carpet out to apply sound deadning material.
Drink beer.
Pull out infotainment/hvac controls and apply clear plasti-dip to reflective infotainment bezel and AC returns.
Drink Beer.
Paint front tow hooks.
Annoy the wife.
Clean Chicken Coop...
Drink some more beer.

It's not too bad really. I clean it twice a week and use aspen shavings and some desiccant stuff called coop refresher that dries things up really well so there's almost zero odor.
