2024 ranger xl 2.3l ecoboost making a noise during cold start

Has anyone heard or know what I’m hearing? It’s about every 10 seconds and happens on cold starts and stops once the rpms drop down.

It's the turbo charger wastegate valve cycling. It is a normal condition. You should see the lever move when you hear the sound.

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if it was normal and didn’t want to pay a dealership to tell me it’s nothing. The dealers I did go to played dumb when I showed them the video

While I concur- it’s the wastegate actuator cycling - it’s abnormal to cycle like this @ idle, try turning off AC and see if it continues plus verify visually it is the actuator- as viewed from RT Front (Wheel House)
I know mine does not cycle like yours does and I think the actuator is hunting for commanded position.

I have the same truck 2024 XL 2.3L engine and mine does not make that noise at all. I've never heard that. ..........................although mine does sound like a sewing machine sometimes when it idles.

Mine cycles 2 times during the high idle period when the engine is cold. It makes the same noise as in the video. After the idle slows to normal idle, it doesn't do it anymore.
