Nickel, dime the hell out of you! You see today Netflix announcement of in the next few days any account sharing will be dealt with harshly. So they’re doubling down on their mandates. Watch the exodus begin of another woke network idea.
I dumped netprix about a year and half ago, content is shit and they keep raising prices and nit picking crap.

I hate subscriptions but it looks like everything will go that
way. I seem to be seeing more & more comments/on it.
I just closed Netflix just for the reason stated. I do have the fire stick so... Once you jail break it, you get whatever you want.

I'm sure ford will eventually find something to charge us for.
I'll be SHOCKED if fordpass is free forever. Get the people hooked..then start charging...

Its exactly what toyota did with their app/remote start features. I bet ford does it too in the next year or two.

They kind of already did but they (for now) went about it a little sneakier. By deleting all these items you're now paying more and getting less. Now you have to order most if these parts through Ford (ones with no aftermarket parts) and they'll get the money that way.

With my Jeep the app was free for the first year then it went to a subscription. Even if I kept it I wasn't going to pay for it as I saw no value in it. Even the Ford app I rarely use except occasionally I'll second guess myself and lock my doors.

Trust me, I'm very angry at ford for the extensive "DLC" they forced on my truck. Hence why this is probably going to be my last ford.

Gasp I know. Changing the seats from the 2019 models, and the humming wheel/drive shaft bearing... I'm done lmao.

The bean counters are finding ways to delete items and add additional costs. :curse:
Its called "monetization" - software companies have gotten really good at it and now auto makers are learning from it. Charging you an ongoing fee for what you used to be able to buy once and use for a long time. Now you have to pay monthly. All big companies seem to be looking for ways to bring in more income and make revenue streams more consistent.

We had to buy a subscription for my wife's new Subaru starlink service to keep the remote start, accident assistance, and many other items working after the first year. It wasn't bad for a 5 year plan at time of delivery and it was the only way to be able to use the app to start it. They don't come with the fob start feature either. Apparently all that network and satellite connectivity is getting expensive to manage like everything else.
