Had my 2021 xlt with tow package for about a wk just started looking for the wires for controller .Can not locate did ford not include for the 21 model?
Welcome to the forum.
Wires are taped to the wire bundle under the dash to the left of the brake. Usually taped to the bundle via a piece of blue tape.
Wires will have a piece of black shrink tubing covering the ends.
The 4 wire colors are...
White...ground....goes to white ground wire on brake control
Blue......brake output wire.....goes to blue brake output wire on brake control
White/Purple....goes to red brake input wire.
Yellow/Red....goes to 12 volt power wire which is black.
The 4 wires that come with the brake controller, red/white/black/blue are industry standard and will mean the same no matter what brand controller you use.
Check out the towing section...plenty of info and photos to help.
I only located two wires on my 2021 (and only needed those two for the OEM Redarc Tow Pro). Those two wires were a pain in the rear to locate also. I thought my truck did not have them. You need to keep feeling around and tugging on the wire bundles. They will materialize
I located these two wires only:
Brake output, which I think is blue.
12V power, which I think was black.
I grounded my Redarc to a nut on the chassis, as per the install instructions.
The other wire needed comes from the rear mounted brake light, for the brake signal to the TBC.
You guys have the tow package with the 7 way plug on the back already? I don't. looks like this harness is pretty straight forward though. I found the big connector behind the bumper where this extra harness plugs in.
I think this is where the factory 7 way goes through the back of the bumper?
