Was looking at some Machete Crawl beadlock wheels, the size chart on KMC’s site show
17x9 -38 offset…
Anyone have any experience in running this much offset?
Currently running FRL 1” level other than that it’s a stock tremor..
I know I’ll have to remove the crash bars or put in high clearance bars but what are the pros and cons of running this wheel on some 285 X 70 x17 inch tires…

I had a close cousin to that wheel from KMC on my Jeep Rubicon. You probably already know this, but it will sit about 3.5" wider than stock, so will be well outside stock lips. The second thing is they are REALLY heavy wheels. Mounting say a 50lb tire on it results in like 100lb total, which is a load when changing one out on the trail.

I finally took those wheels and tires (Nitto M/T) off my jeep and went back to stock wheels and stock sized K02's. The good news is they sold the day I offered them, lots of people will take them off your hands if you decide you didn't like them.

I did not know how far out they would stick out.. 3.5 sounds like a lot.. that may require a wide body kit which I’m not ready to do on this 2 month old truck ?.
I’ve seen a set of KMC’s 17x9 0n 285 70 17’s on a friends ranger and they were -12 offset and I liked that stance…
This is basically why I posted this to see who had or known someone who had experience with this wheel size/tire setup.. also 100 lb per wheel setup seems a bit heavy as well..
Thanks again for the info.. I appreciate it

thanks

I will say, people loved the look of those wheels and tires on that Jeep. Lots of positive feedback from an aesthetic standpoint.

I dumped them for purely practical reasons. Too heavy to heft around and really got tired of the mud brown coating on the Jeep when any mud was encountered.

Good luck.
