17" tire zize?

So would be the biggest tire size I could do with a 2.5" level kit and 1.5" rear lift using the hellwigs helper spring and 1.5" spacers on a 2019 ford ranger xlt?

Maybe @rangerdanger or another moderator will move this to the Tires forum in the Tech area.

Adding 1.5” Wheel Spacers to stock wheels is like lowering your stock wheel’s +55mm offset to +17mm. I’m assuming you’re keeping stock wheels.

I have a 2-1/2” lift with a +15mm offset wheel and I can just fit my 275/70/17s (32.2”) in there but they are very close to the rear crash bars at full lock, with my bars loosened and angled back. They are sure to rub while off-roading or at compression on the street. I am swapping out my crash bars just to be safe because I went that one step too far in wheel size and offset.

If you want to leave your crash bars in place, you are better off with 265/70/17 (31.6”). If you are removing or replacing your crash bars, you can go a bit bigger.

If you just gotta have 275s, you might pull it off without any spacers but you just might need a 1/4” spacer so the tire clears the knuckle while avoiding crash bars. I think some folks have had luck with a 1/2” spacer but I’ll let them chime in.

With those 1.5” spacers, any bigger than 275/70/17 and you might interfere with your wheel well liners and the plastic crash blocks behind the liner above the rear crash bar. The further out you poke your wheels, the closer they get to the wheel wells when turned.

Having big spacers might give you the look you’re after but it always opens up a can of worms. Bigger isn’t always better. Besides, to get 32s, all you have to do is air up or round up. ?
