2020 Ranger, 51k miles. New torque converter. Truck still continues to jerk at 1000-1500 rpm. Rpm’s don’t bounce with the jerks. It isn’t changing gears when it’s jerking. Does seem to be smoother when running at faster speeds. No codes show when checked. Dealership says nothing is wrong. Ford says try another dealership. Everyone I call says 2-3 months for an appointment. Anyone else have a similar issue and know what the problem is?

It could be the EGR system DPFE sensor is bad. It will cause a bucking sensation of the engine at light throttle. It is inexpensive and easy to replace. See this post:

Mine does a bit of this too. It feels like when you have a stick shift car in too high a gear. Pushing the tow button, pulling the stick to sport mode and I am pretty sure turning the cruise control on gets rid of it. I just changed the DPFE sensor. It is a pain. On the first few test drives it held the RPM at about 1700 instead of 1200. I was excited. It seems to have learned the new sensor. It is back to 1200 now. I dont reset the the fuel mileage counters. The one that has at least 10000 miles on it has always said 21.8. Now the one with the bar graphs is saying I average 22.5. So the changing the sensor did something. It is a pain to change, I bought the $50 ford part. But I think I did good to change it. I would buy the $17 one the other guy posted on a different thread and give it a try. I think it was from rock auto.

Try replacing the DPFE sensor but either way the stock tuning keeps the rpm’s too low and makes it shudder, it’s also extremely bad for the engine in certain situations. My truck very rarely goes below 2k and if it does it’s only for a second or so.

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
Ford says try another dealership.
That's just a bit infuriating. Hey Ford, how about you demand your dealerships be worth a f***?! Wow, great customer service there.
Good luck with the problem OP.

Sometimes it’s the easiest solution. Ford has almost 3000 dealerships, they can demand all they want but it doesn’t mean the it makes it down to the technician level. There are good ones and bad ones.

Does it go away if you drive it in tow haul mode?
