I do my own changes because the dealership charges stupid money for full synthetic oil. Buying my own oil it's about $15 more for full synthetic but the dealer charges double. "The works" oil change is $39.95 plus tax for syn blend. It's $85 for full synthetic with 6 quarts.

I used the ford quick change for my cars before. They weren't turbo charged so the synthetic blend was fine. They generally did ok. I didn't always check my oil level after using them figuring they used those fill hoses with the set amount dispensers. Once I did check for some reason an they short filled me a full quart on a 5 quart change.

Stopping there for an oil change did cost me $30K once....I had my fusion in for an oil change an ended up driving home a new ranger.

I had a similar thing happen with my first Ranger, a '99. Someone ran a stop sign and t-boned me in the driver's door and it was in the dealer's body shop. I went in to check on the progress, sign out front said $3500 rebate on Rangers, and I came home with a new '02 that day. With the rebate thrown in the monthly payment was less than $10 more.

Well, this came in the mail today. I guess because they didn’t charge me and sent me on my way, they forgot to give me the invoice.

Whew, THAT is good to know!
That sure is good to know, JohnnyO
Truth is I don't mess with dead folks much at work either. I'm the manager of a coporate-owned place and mostly do paperwork these days. I can embalm and lay someone out if I have to though.
