I would very much strongly consider the soft top for my Supercab. Liked the top they came out with for our Rangers but was kinda disappointed when they only made offerings for the Crew Cab. I'm now where near the Boulder area unfortunately though.
Worst case scenario and hope it doesn't come to this..... If your engine fails due to this issue, it will be completely on them and not you. It will be their fault for downplaying your concern.
I'm running this oil as well, been very happy with it. Changed the "break in" oil out at 1,000 miles and going to perform oil changes every 7,500 miles.
+1...
Take that truck in again and show them your results. In my previous dealership experience, they usually try to avoid complex "hypothetical" internal engine concerns until the vehicle rolls in on a tow truck (unfortunately). If it's still running and driving as intended, it's hard for...
Have not tried it yet but I and never have with any of my previous trucks (doesn't mean I never will though). I'll have to see how the this truck does once winter finally kicks in full swing. I've always had 4x4 pickups and always kick it into 4wd once the roads become sketchy. Have pretty...
What sold me on the Ranger over the F-150 is that it's a much more playful truck. My first "nice" vehicle I owned was a 1999 Ranger Sport 4x4. I like the size of a mid-size truck because it feels more realistic in day to day life for me. Also, the 2.3L Ecoboost mated to the 10R80 trans feels...
Why not go for a set of winter tires if you're concerned about winter season performance. I had a set of Goodyear Winterforce on a separate set of wheels, for a Fiesta ST I owned. Those turned that car into a literal snowmobile!
I had them on a previous truck of mine (1999 Dodge Ram 1/2 Ton 4x4), they did pretty well from what I remember. I deal with the Bridgestone A/T Revo 2's on a daily basis and I'm not personally impressed by them and the Revo 3's look even less aggressive. Would definitely lean towards Duratracs...
The manufacturer is only concerned about your vehicle making it out of the warranty period, without having to paying out on warranty claims. As long as their still reaching that goal, they're not going to peruse further preventative measures. So, 1 and 2 are guaranteed not to happen ;)
The video above makes a good point of mentioning the EGR system, which our engine have, and how it may come into play being mixed with blow-by vapors. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, all I hear is a bunch of boo hoos... :crying: If the ranger is a "10 year old truck", that sets the Tacoma back 25 years with its drum brakes and outdated powertrain
Maybe try a long reach air gun. Use these all the time to clean out leaves, bugs, and cotton wood seeds that accumulate between Super Duty condensers and rads.
I like them a lot. They are pretty quiet for being an aggressive tire. It was either these, Duratracs, or Falken AT3Ws. Haven't been on any two track or trails with these yet. I imagine they will perform just as well or better, than Duratracs.
Just a thought but possibly you could have a leaking High Pressure Fuel Pump. Fuel can leak past the shaft leak into the engine in some instances. I remember replacing these daily on GM 2.4L's when I worked for a GM Dealer. We'd just pull the dipstick and if the the oil level would read way...
Sounds like a trip to the hardware store, to get yourself more fitting fasteners. The OE Ranger Raptor grill seems to sell for $500-$600. Would expect to have a little run around for something that trying to take it place for less than half the price. Hope you're able to get it sorted out.
