Not sure if the US module will work with the overseas version of the Ranger. Seems Ford has design differences between the us and rest of the world. Probably from our corrupt EPA.
Someone might be more knowledgeable about this stuff than I am.
I tell you what though, the remote start came in...
Ford Remote Start
This is the Ford aftermarket Perimeter Plus security module that is plug and play. You can use your key fob to activate it (lock, unlock, lock) or you can buy a long range transmitter to get more range.
The only time I would hear a similar click on mine would be when the outside temps are pretty cold and the transmission was cold. For the first couple of shifts I could hear what sounds like a solenoid clicking. Only did this until the truck went through the first shifts of the day then never...
Well today when I drove to work with the temp. control 1 click from max temp. no problems. So on the way home I set the temp. to max and you guessed it no problems.
Maybe something with the switch position was causing the issue and when I adjusted the temp setting, made the world right again...
I have an xl so manual mode only and no rear defrost.
Yes the light for max defrost would light up and blower would ramp up to max like I had selected the max setting.
I'll look at the FCIM when I get the chance.
Like you I'm prepping for winter fun, just topped off the tank yesterday...
Hey all, got a weird issue. Driving to work today the heater kept switching from floor to max defrost without me touching the temp. control. It did this a few days ago as well but finally quit when I turned the heater off, then back on after a few seconds.
Tried the same thing today but kept...
Are you using the basic remote start with your key fob (lock, unlock, lock)?
I have noticed the Truck will acknowledge the lock function farther out than the unlock.
I thought it was 300' with the regular key fob, but when I checked the owners manual for the perimeter plus, all it mentions is the range for the dedicated remote start transmitter. Which was 1000' or 2500' depending on the transmitter you get.
So I guess my answer is I don't know
Ivan had strange one. Wish he would of dug into more, but I understand. Customer probably didn't want to get to deep into the pocket book. How that didn't fry the BCM I'll never know.
Used to watch him all the time. Seems like he hasn't put out much content lately, although I see a video just came up in my feed the other day.
I used to love when he was helping his brother at his shop. They had me laughing my but off at times.
I like Eric on I do cars as well. He makes me think of Adam Sandler for some reason :giggle:
I'm amazed at the lack of oil changes and its such a simple thing to prolong the life of the engine. The amount of destruction on some these engines is ?
That pin looks like hammered dog poo. Like airline tech said get a new connector and a couple of pins with pig tails. You shouldn't have to replace the whole harness.
I like him to, saved me a bunch of money on my old 5.4 3v. Like when I had to replace TPS. He said Ford put to much lock tite on the treads and if you didn't heat them up they would snap off in the throttle body.
