Yep. After they took a shot at their own designs they did that. The Alpha and Beta motors were pretty close to bigger 4G15s in design with weird semi pentroof heads and timing belts that only went around one of the two cams.

Trip across Houston today used all the driving modes; D, S, and Tow. Maybe because I saw Maverick and wanted to push buttons and move the shifter around.
