  1. Control arm bushings missing chunks

If you want to ride like shit you could always fill the voids with 3M window weld and have a super stiff suspension. I did that on the car I ran nitrous on and it helped the stock engine mounts and CABs hold the extra hit of 60 to 75 hp rather well (jetted for 75 but the fuel pressure was a...
  2. Falken Wildpeaks

I dont like going for tires based on looks... but....... .. .. .. ... I was looking at the Firestone's to replace the stockers once they are burnt up.
  3. Pulling in tow mode

Totally normal. I use tow mode it in traffic for the higher gear lock out and the engine braking. During normal driving I just leave it in D and instad of letting it lug in 10th with a soft pedal; I boot the shit out of it when I want to GO and it does. No lugging. Not a truck that likes you to...
  4. The ultimate question

I'm going with Firestone but most of my driving will be on pavement.
  5. Stock Turbo

Thank you! That explains my Google failure and is interesting in general.
  6. Humming noise when driving over 52

I dont have a tremor but I'd be willing to bet it is the tires. It is that or the diff but IMO that would be more annoying at lower speeds and not stop at 70 if something was wrong with it. I think you are good but understand weird noises from a not cheap as hell vehicle can be annoying.
  7. Stock Turbo

" Now I'm curious if it's the same across all 2.3 applications. ... .... .. might as well let that one go. " Well that answers that question. Thank you Edit: Checked ebay pics. They even have Ford cast into the cold side.... intresting.
  8. Air to Air or Air to Liquid Aftermarket Inter cooler?

Holy crap. I wonder if that would take a real world pull down the 1/4 keeping all the rods in the block. That is a ton of power from a 2.3.
  9. Stock Turbo

Based on that and a quick google search; even the Focus RS also uses at GT22 with a 3mm oversized compressor wheel.
  10. Stock Turbo

I tried and failed to find specifics, but thank you for the reply. I think you are right, might be a one off for the Ranger based on lack of info. Built to Ford specs vs a standard size by Borg W. Now I'm curious if it's the same across all 2.3 applications. ... .... .. might as well let that...
  11. Air to Air or Air to Liquid Aftermarket Inter cooler?

If you want to be super cool you can get kits to spray nitrous (maybe other gases) on the IC before a pull or heavy load. The last time I saw that the poor Prelude wasn't able to keep up with a Genesis and got super butthurt. So cool looking yes. Effective... Ehh a bit maybe? Stock IC is...
  12. Stock Turbo

You answered the question already with not sure., But... Turbo Spins when exhaust gas passes by; compresses air on the cold side. Who makes the bit that spins? <- original question They typically have a hot and cold side number/name due to the size of either (Mitz as an example) but not all...
  13. Stock Turbo

The origin of this question came from me and a better gear head than me talking when he asked what I had under the hood. Me.... "Uhhhh... A turbo.. make boost. Go zoom". :-/
  14. Stock Turbo

I think it is Garrett but again, Google wasn't helpful. Probably because they easily handle stock + mods without issue AND the manifold is one with the head so who changes them?
  15. Stock Turbo

Tracking it is one with the head. Just curious what snail is part of that assembly. Ford doesn't make them as far as I know.
  16. Stock Turbo

Absolutely correct. I was curious what was on the other end.
  17. Stock Turbo

No. I was simply curious what the stock turbo is bolted to said manifold. I saw maybe a K03 but it wasn't confirmed. I have zero interest in unbolting it. Just curious and Google failed me. Or I've had one too many and I failed Google. Either way we are stuck not knowing and wanting to know for...
  18. The best Ranger thread ever is on Tacomaworld!

Probably the taco that tried to race me and I outran without actually needing WOT. Not all 4 cyls are made the same.
  19. Tremor front seat position

I'm 6'2 and my preference is one notch from all the way back, seat all the way down, and leaned back just a bit from straight up. Steering wheel out just a bit and up. Hope you find a way to be comfortable. I had to play with it a bit to make it "fit".
  20. Should I try?

    Stop using logic
