I really don't think it was too much draw - I think the adapter just shorted out intermittently which is what blew the fuses. Both my phone and my friends phone have been plugged into these ports quite a bit with no issues.
With that said, it is a good reminder to check specs of a port before...
It seems like this is a trend with newer vehicles. The rear brakes are used for things like traction control, etc so in many cases they wear out before the fronts do, unlike how it used to be. The rears would last a LONG time.
I will be replacing my rear rotors very soon for this same reason.
So..... I feel like kind of an idiot, but this is fixed now. The issue was simply a blown fuse. (two of them, actually - one for each port)
My theory on what happened was something shorted in the adapter in the right socket, which blew that fuse - when I swapped the adapter to the left port...
I re-did the BCM self test with the parking brake off and the headlight switch off. It completed with no errors.
I got a new adapter today and tried it. No change - I also tried this same adapter in another car and it worked fine.
I checked tonight and the drivers window moves normally. I...
I just tried a master reset (which was kind of a pain since I needed to re-set up everything), but it didn't change anything at all.
I also disconnected the battery for about 10 mins - no change.
A new adapter came today - no change. I've also tested this new adapter and cable in 2 vehicles...
That is kind of part of the weird part about them. The bottom of the inside of the sole has all these bumps - they don't look comfortable but when you wear them they are. I'd suggest just going somewhere that sells them and try them on and see what you think. They are incredibly ugly, IMO...
I don't find them to be sweaty feeling since they are so open. I think the best way to see is to try them for yourself. They are one of the oddest footwear I've ever seen, and just looking at them you wouldn't think they are comfortable, IMO.
I don't think that is really an issue, more of a known thing when they freeze - I've seen the same thing on my Ranger and also our C-Max. It can also happen if they get too dirty.
I've been thinking of that.... The only thing is some evidence of chewing on the battery insulator blanket but it isn't bad. Hoping it doesn't come to that but 'm starting to think it is a bigger possibility - if so, it is beyond my skills I think. I will need to get a pro involved.
I finally was able to look at my rear rotors and they have the same cracking issue that others have reported which is (I'm sure) the cause of my shudder during braking. I ended up ordering Powerstop rotors and pads - see how that works for me.
The adapter worked fine in my wife's car, and I did try another adapter which did not work in the truck (I didn't try that one in my wife's car).
I've got a new adapter on order and will do some more experimenting on Monday and report back.
Thanks for the very detailed suggestions!
Well, my phone behaves the same as his did, and if I take the same adapter and same cable into my wife's car, it works as expected. Something goofy is going on....
OK, so here is what I did:
Fired up FORScan - connected to truck
Did a BCM Reset (I didn't see the self test at first) - no change in behavior
Did a BCM Self Test - it found the following DTCs:
C1D00:11 - Parking Brake apply switch - circuit short to ground
B1438:11 - Autolamp On Input -...
