  1. Stripped Transmission Pan Hole

    These are instructions from PPE.
  2. Ranger vs Outback

Isn’t that the literal purpose of marketing? To manipulate people?
  3. Ranger vs Outback

Had an Outback prior to the Ranger. I found the car super capable and comfortable. I had gone to larger AT tires (Pirelli Scorpions) and a small 1.5” body lift along with some after market skids. Great car but prefer the truck and glad I traded it in. My only beef with it was it was sluggish...
  4. Transmission Woes

I just had my first weird issue yesterday. Was working on bed to prepare to install new cap so backed down driveway to turn around and back back up the drive. Was about 22 degrees and I didn’t warm truck up. Starting to back up the drive (up hill) and just went out of gear. I could reverse...
  5. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Took off my trifold tonneau cover and put on a Smart Cap. Decided I needed more lockable space. Pretty pleased with the quality and the fit though I am going to have to lose my swing box as it interferes with the rear bracket.
  6. Charging Sys-Full Description-Trigger Voltages-Test Results

Which is interesting to me as I have never had any problems with my battery, but I only hook my truck up to maintainer maybe once a week.
  7. Charging Sys-Full Description-Trigger Voltages-Test Results

One big take away from this though is to not leave your charger on all the time. The system needs to go into sleep mode for 3-8 hours to relearn battery health. Other than that, leave your system as engineers designed it (unless your Forscan is showing min SOC at 70% and then you may want to...
  8. Charging Sys-Full Description-Trigger Voltages-Test Results

That is fantastic and much appreciated. So much random guessing and misguided assumptions have been running rampant about these batteries and the BMS. You clearly did your research and more importantly backed it up with testing. This should be pinned!
  9. 285 70 17 Wildpeaks are on!!!

I had the Readylift bars, but ended up needing to remove them to avoid rubbing. I have a 1" spacer which contributed to rubbing. Even with no bars and a lift, I still have slight rubbing when turning left with suspension compression.
  10. Carbon buildup at 25k miles - A short story

Would love to see same photo at same milage on a truck with a catch can installed.
  11. Automatic headlights don’t always work

I used mine for about a year and finally just decided to turn them off. I live an area with winding roads and a lot of hills. They never seemed to work quite right.
  12. Crash avoidance / automatic braking - has anyone tried it?

I have had mine go off a few times on windy roads when I am driving in a spirited manner. Have never had it apply brakes though. I can't imagine this working at all for a deer just suddenly popping out in front of you, but in a driving situation where a car in front stops suddenly, I can see...
  13. Tremor question

They have gotten worse and worse about mounting that relay box from looking at yours. It has always been pretty shoddy with a lot of tape holding it in place though. No idea on the park aid error?
  14. New member from Upstate NY

Welcome! I am down in the lower Hudson Valley (upstate for folks who live in NYC).
  15. Avoid the 2019 Ford Ranger

I was just going to say that it reads like a 6th grade book report. But poorly programmed AI works as well.
  16. I'm getting my transmission rebuilt or replaced

I have modded mine so much I can't imagine any warranty is going to cover anything on it. ?‍♂️
  17. I'm getting my transmission rebuilt or replaced

Give it time. I am sure fuel in oil is a symptom of a shit transmission. Right?
  18. I'm getting my transmission rebuilt or replaced

I was just thinking of the threads that get lumped together into “my transmission is doomed”. I purposely excluded the fuel in oil and battery threads as I have yet to see them blamed on the transmission (yet).
  19. I'm getting my transmission rebuilt or replaced

So many different issues on this forum that all end up getting lumped together as proof the transmission is failing. Then we hear about one actual transmission failure and the narrative becomes that these are doomed to fail in all our trucks. - truck running too high of a gear and “lugging” -...
  20. SHROCKWORKS out of business?

Sucks the hear about these stories. Not only are people screwed out of cash, but another small business has failed, people lost jobs, and we lost some really solid products (I was lucky to get full skids and sliders last year from them). Just sad all around.
