My 2016 Toyota Corolla has been the most reliable vehicle Iāve ever bought. My 2002 Subaru Outback Sport was the absolute biggest piece of junk. I will never own another Subaru. My Ranger is too new to know, but already has been less reliable than the Corolla. My ā98 Chevy 2500 has been good...
I got it with my truck. Have towed thousands of miles with it. I think my P3 works better (smoother, easier to adjust), but use the Redarc because it works with the AEB.
I have WeatherTech liners. Mine donāt fit quite right either. Stock carpet mats are stored in a tub with rear sear bottoms and head rests. My passenger side liner came with some hard plastic stick on gripper that marginally works to keep it in place. Trucks have carpet now because mostly they...
Iām one of the few who really doesnāt want a crew cab, but does want a longer bed. I also donāt want a taller wider truck. Longer is good for me.
Thank you for the update Mark. I will continue praying for you and your Mom. Itās always good to hear what is happening. Praying without knowing the results is always harder, but faith building. Iām a ways away from you, but if there is something those of us far away can do, let us know.
It...
Look at the Clearview mirror thread. It details the process Pop tweeter off and unplug. Remove plastic screw cover. unplug mirror. Remove 3 bolts. 1 bolt you need an L shaped Torx 10, or remove the door panel. I used the Allen / Hex key L shaped T10 and did it without removing the door panel.
If the hitch, hitch attachment, trailer design, bed rail height, and turning radius work with the truck and trailer combination, then the weight limits should be fine for most Ranger configurations. There are lots of measurements to make a 5th wheel work well with any given truck and hitch...
Yes you can beef things up, just mentioning what Ford says.
My 98 Chevy 2500 was bought specifically for hauling an Alaskan slide in camper. The truck and camper were a good match, but we moved to a Bigfoot 9.6 basement camper. It was a superb 4 season camper. I had to stiffen the front and...
Regarding size, storage, boondocking and weather. We have an Escape 19. Itās smaller than an Escape 5.0TA, but larger than any Scamp or Casita. It does have outside storage, can be equipped for fairly cold weather, and we boondock all the time with temps routinely in the low teens F.
I...
I'm leaning toward a lightweight slide-in camper and if necessary, Firestone airbags.
As long as we are looking at what we can and canāt do, hereās what Ford says:
Using a Slide-In Camper
We do not recommend using your pickup for carrying a slide-in camper
I know there are Ranger owners towing the Escape on the Escape forum. The Scamp is not a true 5th wheel hitch, but is similar in towing. Some of the MicroMinies are smaller than some of the Escapes. There are smaller non fiberglass 5th wheels as well. They are typically marketed for 1/2 ton...
There are Scamp and Escape 5.0SA, and 5.0TA 5th wheels towed by Ranger owners. My Escape is a travel trailer, but my payload for that rear axle is much higher than most of the F150ās Escape 5th wheel owners talk about. The Escape trailers are nice with a high cost and long wait to get, but mine...
To me vehicles are necessary evils. You need the tool to do what you have to do in life. I can do many things on a vehicle, but there are some I wonāt do. Honestly there are only two things in life I hate. 1. Editing video. 2. Working on cars. Thereās other stuff I donāt like, most stuff I...
Iām probably a minority here. Iām not a car guy. I follow forums to help me keep my vehicles going for the long haul. I have a 1998 Chevy 2500 with the heavy duty rear and tranny. I have a 2016 Corolla. Itās pretty cheap to both buy and drive. Both have been solid vehicles. I wanted a newer...
I find these numbers interesting. Unloaded on flat roads with highway driving, and hand calculated I see 23mpg in my ā21 2wd SCAB. I do not push the truck, and the roads are mostly 55mph around here.
